Migrating from Amazon WorkMail
WorkMail is closing. Your email isn’t.
Amazon WorkMail ends on March 31, 2027. If you run email for your company or your clients, Nilomail, launching soon, is built to bring mailboxes, a shared inbox, newsletters and transactional email together, with a separate workspace per client. Only the waitlist is open for now.

-
Add your domains
You set up one workspace per client or project, each with its own domains. Domains stay with your registrar.
-
Update DNS
You replace WorkMail’s MX, SPF and DKIM records with the values you are given, and remove the
autodiscoverrecord if you no longer need it. -
Invite your users
You create mailboxes and shared inboxes, invite the team and, if needed, set up API keys and webhooks for application email.
What stays the same
- Your domains and email addresses.
- Sending from your applications, via REST API or SMTP relay.
- Your archive: the WorkMail export stays yours.
What changes
- Mail will be read in the Nilomail web app, with iOS and Android apps on the way.
- Nilomail will not connect to Outlook or other external clients.
- Old mailboxes will not be imported: export them from WorkMail before it closes.
Frequently asked questions
Can I switch today?
Nilomail isn’t live yet: only the waitlist is open, so you can’t switch today. Join the waitlist and we’ll tell you when access opens.
Is Nilomail a fit if my team uses Outlook?
No. Nilomail will be used through its own apps and will not connect to Outlook. If your team must stay in Outlook, choose a provider that supports it.
Can I keep clients separate?
Yes, that is the design. Each client gets its own workspace with its own domains, team and sending reputation, all managed from your account.
